In my childhood I’ve been rejected by others. Because I loved reading Sartre and going to museums, they called me weird.
Thankfully when I moved to Paris, I found people as weird as I was. I really forged my personality there. I learned how to protect my self against some people’s violence without being violent my self.
When I turned 20, my parents asked me what I wanted as a gift. I asked for a plane ticket and I moved across Europe going from town to town, sleeping on the couch of people I just met on the streets…I’ve never been so warmly welcomed.
